Originally from Michigan, Hannah’s goal was to work in an AmeriCorps program outside of her home state. She is Bur Oak Land Trust’s first AmeriCorps member to work for a host site – Trees Forever. Her goal is to make the Trees Forever Growing Futures program more successful and to help her teammates feel like they have accomplished something great for the community. She knows that this program will enable her to develop strong communication skills while being comfortable leading a group.
Hannah enjoys delving into a new program or project and looks forward to exploring something new with the dynamic environment of the Growing Futures program, where she has the opportunity to work with a wide range of energetic, funny, intelligent kids. Because the program is regional, Hannah is excited to see more of Iowa and feels that Iowa sunsets could rival the ones she grew up seeing over Lake Michigan.
Working in the AmeriCorps program, Hannah knows she will be developing an in-depth, wider view of the environment, enhancing her skill set to problem solve environmental issues while preparing her for the future in the work force.
