Sarah has a 25+ year history both as a volunteer and a leader of nonprofit organizations. She has served on more than 30 nonprofit boards in Iowa, Illinois, New Mexico, Texas, and Wisconsin. In 2009, Sarah and business partner Helen Arnold founded Clearly Compliant, LLC. Clearly Compliant offers flexible, turnkey charitable solicitation registration services to nonprofit organizations across the country. Sarah’s previous professional experience includes Director of the Iowa City VA Medical Research Foundation, Director of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy with Alliant Energy, Director of the Cedar Rapids Downtown District, founding member of the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas and Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bastrop. Sarah was honored to start her professional experience with ten years’ service in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance and Munitions Officer. Sarah is a native of Toledo, Iowa. Her ancestors settled in Mahaska County in 1854 and the family-owned Iowa Century Farm is still in operation. She is married to Jack and they have one son, Briley. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
